Friends of Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge, previously known as Stone Lakes NWR Association, has worked for over 25 years to build public and civic support for the Refuge and has raised over $150,000 for visitor amenities and habitat restoration. Membership dues are used to support Friends programs and for outreach efforts to inform the community about the Refuge and its programs and challenges.

Becoming a member provides many benefits to you, to the Friends of the Refuge and to the Refuge. Members can serve on Friends standing committees, are entitled to discounts on Refuge merchandise, and can participate in special tours of the refuge, nature walks, canoe outings and other Friends activities. As an active member you can learn more about the Refuge and help to protect and support it through the Friends' education, outreach and conservation activities.

We invite you to become a member and make a difference by supporting a jewel in our own backyards.

There are six levels of memberships:

  • Bewick's Wren – $20

  • American Avocet – $35

  • Green Heron – $50

  • Swainson's Hawk – $100

  • Great Blue Heron – $250

  • Sandhill Crane – $1000
